Baltic is something that is very familiar to me and reminds us of our ancestors. When I was asked to create a Baltic pendant, the idea of road crosses immediately came up. Many roadside crosses are metallic with sun, flowers, flames, moon and more similar symbols. Such sculptures remind me more of the preservation of the worldview of our ancestors for future generations than of the cross. They tells about people who loved what is around them - the sun, the moon, the tree, the plant, the fire. Our ancestors felt great gratitude for the environment around them and that fascinates me. I write this only from my own observation and perception. While cutting the metal, I realized that such crosses were minted by my grandfather in his forge, so this job was very close to me.
